My journey has always centered on bridging the gap between big ideas and practical action. Each step of my career has shaped The SHIFT System™.
- As a special education advocate: I learned to scaffold complex concepts, personalize support, and create accessible pathways for every individual. This approach is fundamental to how I see AI literacy. It must work for everyone.
- As a tech integrator and teacher trainer: I didn’t just teach about new tools. I implemented them. I designed professional learning that actually changed daily practice. I understand the real challenges of getting new technology to stick in busy environments.
It was through these experiences that The SHIFT System™ was born. I saw a clear need for a human-centered methodology that helps educators and staff navigate AI’s speed, cut through the noise, and confidently integrate AI into their professional practice.
The SHIFT System™ is a framework refined over two decades of learning design expertise. It now includes deep insights from three years of hands-on AI problem-solving, following the mainstream adoption of these powerful tools.
My Core Philosophy: Human-Centered AI
At my core, I believe that technology should always serve human potential. In this AI Age, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or to think machines will replace our thinking. My work is dedicated to making sure that doesn’t happen.
My philosophy is simple: We must first equip ourselves as professionals. This prepares us to guide the next generation. The SHIFT System™ is designed to make you the master of AI, not the other way around. It helps you keep human insight and creativity at the center of every AI interaction.

She is known for her work in human-AI collaboration for educational systems. With over two decades of experience guiding leaders and staff in K-12 and higher education, Ayo created The SHIFT System™ to prepare institutions for the Intelligence Age. She offers practical strategies to build AI literacy and drive educational innovation. She currently lives in Ghana, West Africa with her family, and was featured on the HBO Max docuseries ‘Coming From America’.
